A Village Help Scheme is a group of Volunteers who want to help others in their community. Each scheme is unique, setting its own limits as to what it can provide. Some will do shopping, fetching prescriptions and short term dog walking, whilst others provide transport for their members to one-off special events and/or on a routine basis.
A large scheme may have a number of very different ‘mini’ schemes run for the benefit of the village such as a Community Car Scheme, Mobile Warden Scheme or Walking Group, whereas a smaller scheme may only have a few volunteers that will help with little one-off tasks. Size doesn’t matter. What does is being able to help others, so please contact us if you think there is a need in your area and we will try and help you establish a scheme to help.
